■home game as chairman ended in defeat as Mickleover lost narrowly to Belper Town.
It was a quick start from the visitors, taking the lead after five minutes through Kevin Bastos, who was slipped clean through on goal and slotted his effort into the bottom right corner.
The game soon settled down, with neither side creating much until the 36th minute, when Diego De Girolamo doubled Belper’s lead.
The effort left McDowell helpless, an inch-perfect finish into the top-left corner.
