A TWO-GOAL win in front of a 1,000-plus crowd was not quite enough for them to reach the play-offs as a win for Stockton saw them take it by just one point.
Lancaster almost had a chance after ten minutes when Steve Yawson dispossessed Ben Townsend but the keeper recovered quickly to prevent him from shooting.

Kelly made a good save to deny James Morris.
Sam Bailey looked to calm Lancaster’s nerves, putting them ahead, leaving Townsend rooted to the spot with a shot from the edge of the area.
