MORPETH TOWN’s win over mid-table Warrington Town wasn’t enough to see them avoid relegation on the final day, with results elsewhere condemning The Highwaymen to the drop.
The hosts knew a win would give them a slim chance of staying up, but Whitby’s goalless draw with Cleethorpes and Prescot’s win over Bamber Bridge rendered the victory redundant.
