Ice-cool Hayes spot-on to book play-off berth

AN 80th-minute penalty converted by leading goalscorer Kevin Hayes allowed Stockton Town to accept their invitation to the end of season promotion party by securing fifth place in the table.
Played in unrelenting April sunshine, the opening period was goalless with both teams having periods in the ascendancy without either goalkeeper being too troubled until the visitors broke the deadlock in the 35th minute.
