A VILLAGERS’ guard of honour welcomed the champions in front of a 443-strong crowd.
It proved to a battling performance from the off for the Villagers, who enjoyed the games first-half chance inside the opening five minutes; Lewis Dennison challenged well from a Ben Hatton cross, but Josh Mazfary claimed.
The Villagers enjoyed a late spell of pressure towards the end of the first half but it was scoreless at the break.
