Our great clubs need protecting

AM I alone in being concerned about the number of clubs, particularly at Steps 5/6, either taking voluntary relegation or, worse still, being forced to pull out of senior football altogether.
This year, we’ve seen a number of clubs step aside from the National League System – with
Pilkington FC and Haverhill Borough perishing in the last two weeks alone.
It feels like it’s tougher than ever before to keep these clubs alive, so is there anything that can be done to help protect the lifeblood of the English game?
