Hyde United boss Michael Clegg says last season’s squad were desperate to stay at Ewen Fields for the forthcoming season – which is exactly why he released them!
Just seven players have been retained from the misfiring side that sat in the NPL Premier relegation zone upon Clegg’s arrival in January.
And whilst the former Macclesfield boss comfortably secured safety, he was not fooled by a belated run of good form.
