IT WAS great hearing Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver talking so positively ahead of the new season (NLP, July 12).

As a devout Town fan, I haven’t had too much to cheer over the years – last season’s relegation from the EFL’s LeagueTwo felt almost inevitable. Now, though, on reading Simon’s comments, I feel a lot more confident that we could actually compete at the top end of the table this season, instead of down at the bottom.
