WOKING were reminded of their frailties after the high-profile departure of Jermain Defoe against a physical Sutton side who pushed their limits at times but ultimately were too strong and too good.
The Cards haven’t won or scored on opening day since August 2021, and this showing had echoes of last year’s toothless defeat at home to Carlisle against a side Woking haven’t beat since 2017.
