TWO goals in added time from Spennymoor’s greatest goalscorer Glen Taylor saw them pick up all three points against Merthyr Town, who played the second half with ten players after Will Spiers’ dismissal on the stroke of half-time.
It was the visitors who started stronger with Morgan Wigley teeing Jacob Maddox on the edge of the area, but his powerful shot narrowly missed the target. While Spennymoor saw Junior Mondal’s effort from the edge of the area was stopped at full stretch by Jaimie Cogman.
