MAKING A STAND: Gus Mafuta confronted his own supporters

GUS MAFUTA has called for the maximum punishment to be inflicted on racist supporters following last weekend’s shocking incident – as Hartlepool United take a strong stance against racism.
The Pools midfielder witnessed the appalling abuse of Dover Athletic striker Inih Effiong at Victoria Park and confronted one supporter. Both teams contemplated walking off the pitch with players from the two sides visibly affected by what they had seen and heard.
