A COUPLE of years a go I wrote to Fans’ Forum saying that I thought the North/South divide in the Nor ther n Premier Lea gue was a geographical mess.
I suggested, for easier travel, an East/West split.
Clubs west of the Pennines would use the M6 as the main artery to travel down from Cumbria through Lancashire, Cheshire and into the West Midlands.
Likewise, the Easter n League would use the A1/M1 to travel from the East Midlands through Yorkshire up to the North-East.
