I READ with interest about possible dates for re-starting football leagues foer the 2020-21 season with the most popular option being in September.
I do feel, however, that there will be a need for pre-season friendlies more so now than ever before.
Primarily as a Health and Safety issue, players and officials have to be given the opportunity to get up to some sort of match fitness. Even myself, as a tannoy announcer at my local club, could do with the practice!
Not only that, but these games are also a much-needed money spinner for our struggling club...
