ELITE STANDING: Alfreton Town’s home

WHAT is it with these new ‘Elite’ and ‘Non- Elite’ football tags? My club, Alfreton Town, are classed as ‘Elite’ but we don’t get crowds of 20-30,000 and don’t sell football shirts to Japan or the USA. We are still Non-
League and without fans coming in to watch us, we will have no income. Also there are some ‘Non-Elite’ clubs in the leagues below who draw in nearly double the crowds of clubs like ours so where’s the sense in that?
