DAVID BATCH has left AFC Sudbury to take up the vacant managerial position at ambitious Southern Premier club St Neots Town.

Batch leaves Sudbury eighth in the Ryman North and replaces Gary King at Rowley Park after he stepped down due to work and family commitments.

The Saints sit eighth in the Southern Premier, just two points off the play-offs and five off current leaders Poole Town.

The 42-year-old, who holds the UEFA A License, has previously managed Downham Town, Wroxham – who he led to Wembley in the FA Vase – and most recently Sudbury.

St Neots chairman Mike Kearns said: “It has been a long couple of weeks but in the end we got our man. I wanted an ambitious young manager who has an excellent management record, the highest coaching accreditation and good man management skills.

“I also wanted someone who appreciated just what we are trying to achieve at the club from first team right down to grass-roots football. David has all of those credentials.”
