PAUL FAIRCLOUGH has named his 18-man squad for England C’s friendly with the Czech Republic later this month.

The Lions take on a very talented Czech Under-21 side at Woking’s Kingfield Stadium on Tuesday, November 19, with entry free to the game, which kicks off at 6pm.

Fairclough’s squad includes a handful of new names, including FC Halifax Town’s Dan Gardner, Kidderminster forward Joe Lolley and Angus McDonald, Dan Fitchett and Elliott Frear, all of whom play for Salisury City.

Forest Green Rovers defender and former England C Player of the Year Jamie Turley returns to the squad having missed out on the friendlies against Bermuda and Latvia.

Lions boss Fairclough expects a tough test from their opponents but feels it will stand the players in good stead for the International Challenge Trophy tournament, which begins next May.

He commented: “The fixture against Czech Republic is yet another opportunity for our young internationals to experience European football at a high level.

“Their national football team is currently ranked 25 in the FIFA Rankings and this fixture will feature the cream of the Czech Republic Under-21s so will expose our players to yet another style of play which can only enhance their experience.

“The squad selected is a hybrid of the players who featured in the last two internationals against Bermuda and Latvia, coupled with some fresh faces who have forced their way into consideration due to their good club form.”
