HUCK NETS Goal of the Season
There's simply nothing like a wonder goal to wow the crowds – and once again we've been truly blessed with some absolute pearlers this season.
The Goal of the Season award, sponsored by our friends at Huck Nets, is contended by a number of worthy nominees with spectacular efforts flying in all over the place at all levels of the game.
Taking into account well-worked team goals, outstanding pieces of individual skill or a long-range belter into the top corner, this is traditionally one of the hardest awards to decide on and The NLP panel will certainly have their work cut out before announcing the winner at the National Game Awards ceremony, held at AFC Wimbledon's Plough Lane Stadium on Tuesday May 23.
Granted, having some of these moments captured on social media videos has made life a little easier for the judges – but it will still be a tough task deciding who will follow in the footsteps of last year's winner Oli Babington for his dipping 50-yard volley for Clevedon Town against Buckland Athletic.
If it's big goals on the big stage you're after then how about John Bostock's absolute corker for Notts County in their title crunch clash with Wrexham earlier this month.
With the winner-takes-all game delicately poised going into the half-time break, the Magpies won a free-kick 25 yards out and Bostock showed just why the likes of Barcelona were sniffing around for his services in his youth by bending an inch-perfect effort into the top corner, leaving former Manchester United and England keeper Ben Foster grasping thin air. A moment of quality from the very top drawer.
Meanwhile, there's two lads at the other end of the pyramid who seem to make a habit of producing that jaw-dropping moment.
Dan Bartlett has netted twice from ridiculous distances for Wimborne Town this season – one a lob from the halfway line to secure his side an unlikely 96th-minute point, just seconds after Bristol Manor Farm had scored what they believed to be the winner.
And let us introduce to you also, Adam Garmston. He is on the books of Midland League side Wolverhampton Casuals but also plays for Down Syndrome Awareness FC, helping a side out that stands for so much good.
Garmson shared compilation of his goals on social media and it's safe to say it is banger after banger, with that probably underselling the quality of his strikes!
