Cole Skuse didn’t plan to become a manager when he hung up the boots that had played more than 600 games in the EFL – the vast majority in the Championship – for Bristol City, Ipswich Town and Colchester United.
So, three years on from stepping into the dugout at Bury Town, one promotion and an encouraging first season at Step 3 later, does the 40-year-old now feel like one?
“I’ve never been asked that question,” Skuse muses to The NLP. “I’ve coached from a very young age.
“Rolling back to Bristol I had my own soccer schools, I used to go with the academy.”
