By Alex Beard
Mark Hume has left his post as FC manager this afternoon following last night's 3-0 Evo-South defeat to .
Hume's decision brings an end to his five month spell in charge at the Coach and Horses Ground, with the world's oldest club now third from bottom in the league after a wretched start to the season.
The former and Bradford Park Avenue boss had significant success in his previous postings, but couldn't replicate that upon becoming James Colliver's successor with the Club.
“For a number of reasons things just haven't worked as I'd expected, and for the benefit of this club, which I have a real feeling for, it is time for a change of manager,” he told the club's official website.
“Everyone at the club has been really helpful and welcoming and I shall miss it.”
A Sheffield FC spokesman said: “All of us at Sheffield FC would like to thank Mark for the effort and commitment made during his spell in charge and we wish him all the very best in the future.”
Mark Shaw has been named caretaker manager, with Chris Dolby and Matt Roney assisting him. The trio will take change of their first game against on Saturday.
