A TIARNAN O’Connor hat-trick was enough to see Chesterfield progress to the next round of the Academy Cup against a resilient Boston United.
O’Connor opened the scoring for the hosts just after the ten-minute mark with a cool finish past the keeper, giving the hosts an early boots.
However, the lead would only last a matter of minutes as Owen Sheriff pulled Boston level after 14 minutes, giving the visitors hope of a comeback against a side they beat 7-4 in October.
