CHRIS NUNN says he stepped down as manager of Biggleswade Town this week with a “heavy heart” after a 15-year association with the club.

Nunn quit on Monday following last Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at Rushall Olympic –a result which made it 10 games without a win for the Waders in Southern League Premier Central and sees them languishing in the relegation zone.

EXIT: Chris Nunn

Nunn’s remarkable transformation of Biggleswade began in late 2006, alongside chairman Maurice Dorrington, where the pair of them took the Hertfordshire club to their highest ever position.

Nunn stepped down from his first spell in charge at Langford Road in April 2018 but was re-appointed in August 2020 after the departure of Lee Allinson to Hendon following a lengthy spell as caretaker boss.

Announcing his departure, Nunn wrote on Twitter: “With a heavy heart I resigned as Waders manager today.

“I’d like to thank the chairman for asking to help out over two years ago, the players and the staff over that time.

“The support I’ve received from the green army has been fantastic, I have so much love and respect for you all #waders.”
