My sympathy for Staines faithful

DO please tell me that the story (NLP, April 3) that Joe Dixon, owner of Staines Town, has invoked the Modern Slavery Act in a dispute with the landlords, is an April Fool?
Sadly the postponement of the Swans’ game by a perhaps over-sympathetic league argues otherwise.
The inhuman treatment of other human beings is not a joke. Mr Dixon is quoted as saying he “may well have evidence”. He should produce it if he doesn’t want to risk a libel trial.
I last saw Swans losing to lower-league Fleet Town in a Cup –a far cry from Mr Dixon...
