PAUL Michael has quit as manager of play-off chasing Yate Town to take over at relegated league rivals Merthyr Town.
Michael led the Bluebells to seventh in the Southern Premier South table – just six points off a place in the knockout stages.
But now he is preparing for life at Step 4 with the Martyrs, who finished second from bottom in the same division.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be here,” said Michael, who joined Yate in 2020.
