CITIZENS GAFFER RESIGNS

NICK IRONTON has stepped down as manager of Welwyn Garden City after the club’s failure to meet ground grading requirements.
Ironton led City into the Southern League Division One Central playoff places, only to be told that they were ineligible.
A successful appeal saved the club from relegation to Step 5 but that didn’t stop Ironton from quitting.
Ironton tweeted: “I have resigned as WGC manager with immediate effect –I wish them all the best in the future. Huge thanks to my players , the committee and the loyal supporters – it’s been a brill...
