Don’t let TV call the play-off shots

AT HALF-TIME of extratime in the play-off game between Notts County and Grimsby Town, the referee signalled the players to their respective benches to take a drink.
Almost immediately the man from BT Sport approached the referee who immediately signalled the players to return and waved urgently for them to do so.
Clearly the referee was not in control of the game – the TV company was – and this is entirely wrong.
