PRE-SEASON IS A REAL MIX OF EMOTIONS

PRE-SEASON is always tough. I remember when I was at Brighton and I played 90 minutes for a young side against Fulham. Later that day our physio had a testimonial match where we played Charlton. I was 19 so they stuck me on the bench.
Before I knew it, I’d ended up playing another 45 minutes! I was exhausted. That wouldn’t happen now.
I wasn’t a fan of pre-season generally. Part of it can come down to the type of manager you have – scientific or old school.
