WHEN Yeovil Town were relegated in the late 90s they requested to be placed in the Isthmian League as they had been in it previously.
The FA didn’t allocate the places then, the clubs voted for who played where, while the three Alliance leagues would recommend before each AGM where the club would be placed.
If a club made a specific request it was agreed to as far as possible.
