PREMIER League Brentford fielded a team of big guns and proved just too strong for Boreham Wood on a scorching hot afternoon at Meadow Park.
The Bees took the lead on nine minutes when Bryan Mbeumo scored from a penalty after Rico Henry was brought down in the area by Wood defender Will Evans.
Brentford pressed for a second but were denied for long spells by a combination of some wayward finishing and excellent Boreham Wood defending.
