Kelly’s full of optimism with Moors

Josh Kelly believes fulltime football will bring out the best in him – and is aiming for the Football League with Solihull Moors.

Kelly’s full

JOSH Kelly believes fulltime football will bring out the best in him – and is aiming for the Football League with Solihull Moors.

The 23-year-old forward has joined on a three-year contract, with Moors paying an undisclosed fee to National League rivals Maidenhead United.

Windsor-born Kelly netted 15 times in the top-flight for Alan Devonshire’s Magpies last term and cleaned up at their end of season awards.

The former Northern Ireland Under-21 international said: “I’ve come here to score goals and to try to improve on everything I can.

“Coming into a fulltime set-up is definitely going to help me, especially with the team here and having spoken to the manager and hearing his ambitions.

SWITCH: Josh Kelly

The club were unlucky not to go up last season but, with the team we’ve got here, I don’t see why we can’t do it this time around.”

Moors boss Neal Ardley is delighted to have got his man.

He said: “Josh has been a player that we’ve had to be patient with as there were several clubs in for him and interest from the EFL after his outstanding season last time out.

“He fits the way we play and will complement all our attacking options and players.”
