UNITED STAND SPONSOR BLUNDER

SOUTHEND UNITED is to change the name of out of its stands after a new sponsorship deal inadvertently triggered a link with one of Britain’s most notorious serial killers!
The Shrimpers agreed to rebrand the West Stand at their Roots Hall home after signing a commercial partnership with Leigh-on-Sea estate agents Gilbert & Rose.
But the juxtaposition of “Gilbert & Rose” with “West Stand” inadvertently saw Rose and West appear next to each other on season ticket cards and the club’s website.
