THOSE of us with long-standing football vintage will recall a famous television series called The Manageress.
This fictional drama starred Cherie Lunghi as the woman who managed a men’s football team. It ran on Channel 4 for two series between 1989 and 1990.
Now, more than three decades later, there is a real life Manageress at Stanway Pegasus FC in Rosi Webb. She has recently overseen promotion to the Eastern Counties League First Division South from the Essex & Suffolk Border League.
