COMEDIAN and star of TV’s Taskmaster Alex Horne says he needed “two seconds” to accept Chesham United’s offer to become a director at the club.

Horne supports the Southern Premier South Generals and was only too happy to be asked if he’d like to be invovled.

“At the recent gathering at the football club I was asked by the chairman if I would be interested in joining the Board,” Horne said. “I thought about it for about two seconds before saying ‘yes!’

“I have made no secret of my support for the club, using every possible opportunity to promote them when I get a chance in my day job and I have been grateful for the opportunity to use the ground here at Chesham for filming tasks for Taskmaster, that has been very special.

“Also, I’m pretty sure I heard someone say I’d definitely be brought on to take a penalty if/when we get through to a major cup final at Wembley.”
