Referees need added support

THERE is a chronic shortage of football referees at present, largely due to the abuse they receive from players and managers.
And I believe the FA and a majority of the leagues are part of the problem, not the solution.
The ludicrous “sin bin” rule has given referees extra work which they really don’t want or need. The numerous distractions of managers pressurising the referee to get players on after being binned is not condusive to his/her concentration.
