Found! A

A Marine season ticket for the 1903-04 season has been discovered – thousands of miles away in Arizona, USA!

The 120-year booklet, measuring 3in x 2in, was issued to member and supporter John Douglas in the summer of 1903, listing a game against Liverpool reserves as the first game of the season.

It was found by Everton collector Dr David France, who in tur n handed it over to his friend, Marine fan Peter Mills.

“Peter brought the ticket to Marine’s home game last Tuesday and proudly showed off his prized possession to admiring Mariners,” explained Marine chair man Paul Leary.

“It is a quite incredible find, as was the watch presented to retiring Marine player Walter Quayle in 1909 that was discovered in Califor nia just two years ago.”.

The ticket would only have been Marine’s ninth season ticket as the clubwere founded in 1894.

“It is particularly amazing given it coincided with our 120th anniversary at College Road,” Leary added.
