It’s not easy to compile a fixture list

I READ with interest the letter headed ‘A congested schedule is just not fun’ (Fans’ Forum, February 12).
Fixture compilation is not the easiest of tasks in the footballing world. When I was the Fixtures Secretary for the West Lancashire League there were several considerations that had to be taken into account.
One was the spectre of the FA Vase and County FA competitions – and the success of our teams didn’t outweigh the inconvenience.
