Clubs at odds over merger plan

Helston Athletic director of football Steve Massey believes an extra Step 5 division in the south-west would undermine the progress of Cornish football.
A plan to merge the Western and South West Peninsula leagues and add an extra division to cut round trips of up to 400 miles between Bristol and Cornwall fell through last week following disagreements over how it would run.
