LATE CALL: Scunthorpe v Buxton was abandoned

WHAT a shameful decision from referee James Bancroft at Scunthorpe last Saturday (NLP September 9).
Abandoning a game after 95 minutes, and refusing to speak to either team manager.
Both wanted the game to restart after a short break to remove water from the pitch.
Forget the supporters – none of their business to be told the game was not concluded.
How can referees expect respect when some appear to act in such a haughty and foolish way?
