GEOFF Thompson has reassured South Shields fans there will be ‘no firesale’ of the club after he put the National League North Mariners up for sale.
The south Tyneside businessman has overseen an unprecedented turnaround in fortunes at his hometown club since taking control in the summer of 2015.
But the beginning of the end to his eight-year golden era at the 1st Cloud Arena was announced this week when he revealed he was stepping down to continue his recovery from cancer.
