Most readers know I have an extended stay on the Isles of Scilly every autumn. This usually means a dearth of football apart from a game or two in The World’s Smallest Football League. Quite by chance, I catch word of a special game taking place on Saturday afternoon – rather than the usual Sunday morning.
To double check, I call in at Old Town cafe to check with the organiser of the football. Coincidentally, this establishment also serves the best pasties on the islands!
Come the day, I have a 1.5-mile walk ...
