FOOTBALL is mourning the death of former Northern Counties East League chairman David Morrall, who passed away this week following a long illness. A former Premier League assistant referee, he was credited with securing the NCEL’s title sponsorship deal with Toolstation. He was a former FA council representative and sat on the board of the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA. Respected Morrall served the NCEL as referees’ secretary and devoted over two decades of service to football in the region.
