ON a recent trip abroad, I was talking to a fellow holidaymaker. When asked what I did I replied that I was the chair and secretary of Dunstable Town FC. His immediate response was “George Best”.
As much as we are proud of George’s name on our 1974 alumni, just as we are with former old boys, Jeff Astle, Kerry Dixon and more recently, Peter Kioso, there is always the hint of the “I was Molly Sugden’s Bridesmaid” sketch on Little Britain.
