FAMOUS LEAGUE FORCED TO FOLD

ONE of the country’s oldest football leagues has been forced to fold due to a lack of teams and shortage of volunteers.
The Stratford Football Alliance was launched back in 1896 with dozens of sides competing each Saturday during its heyday.
But according to league secretary Barry Cooke, the writing was on the wall following Covid and the numbers had now dwindled to just a handful of clubs willing to commit to the new season.
