REDCAR Athletic recorded the biggest win on the opening day of the season when they put four goals past reluctant Northern League debutants Kendal Town.
Mark Anderson’s first-half goal was added to after the break by a Bradley Fewster brace and a 75th-minute Jack Blackford strike.
West Auckland and Penrith both recorded 3-0 home wins, the ever-dangerous Josh Scott scoring two late goals for West against Seaham Red Star.
Luke Brown gave Penrith an 18th minute lead against Birtley Town, DJ Taylor then scoring either side of half-time.
