GARETH BARRY, the Premier League’s record appearance maker, is expected to play ‘a handful of matches’ after his shock signing for village side Hurstpierpoint.
The 43-year-old was initially hailed as coming out of retirement to play for the Bluedogs in the Step 8 Mid-Sussex League’s second-tier Championship but club secretary Alex Oecken-Faithfull played down the coup.
