QUENTIN Townsend’s last act as Stourport Swifts manager was to help appoint his successor – his on-field “warrior” Ben Jevons.
The ex-Hereford United defender stood down weeks into his seventh season at Walshes Meadow following Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat at home to AFC Wulfrunians.
Under Townsend, Swifts enjoyed runs to the fifth and fourth rounds of the FA Vase, won the Worcestershire Senior Cup for the first time and finished in the Midland Football League Premier Division play-offs last season.
