MARTIN Carruthers is back as manager of Basford United – for a third time!
The 53-year-old former Stoke City and Scunthorpe striker has stepped back into the dugout at Greenwich Avenue following the surprise resignation of Willis Francis after nine months in charge.
Francis departs with the Lions lying in eighth in NPL Midlands having been relegated last season.
Carruthers had previously held the position of manager on two separate occasions, the most recent of which came to an end in December 2024.
