I READ your report titled ‘Halted! Female official abused’ (NLP November 16) with my head in my hands.
You explain how Coventry Sphinx match with AFC Rushden & Diamonds was abandoned “due to a comment of a sexist nature that was allegedly directed toward the female match official”.
Who allowed this drastic course of action? How did abandoning the match help anyone? Was the huge inconvenience it gave to hundreds of people really worth it to make a point about ill-behaviour?
