ANCIENT SHRIMPERS CHANGE THE RECORD

HARWICH & Parkeston are celebrating their 150th anniversary by rewriting the history books with a new club crest to show that the Essex Senior League outfit are two years older than had long been believed.
It had previously been thought that the Shrimpers, one of the oldest surviving clubs in the UK, were founded in 1877, but two years ago, old newspaper reports showing that the club originated in 1875 were discovered.
