Magpies Top Scorer Commits For Two Years

Dorchester Town director of football Matt Lucas has described Ben Watson’s decision to sign a new two-year deal with the club as “a great bit of news”.

DORCHESTER TOWN director of football Matt Lucas has described Ben Watson’s decision to sign a new two-year deal with the club as “a great bit of news”.

Watson, 27, scored 17 times for the Magpies last term to finish as their top scorer in all competitions.

He has now committed himself to them for two further campaigns and Lucas was full of praise for the former Brighton, Bognor, Grays, Exeter, Forest Green, Bath and Eastbourne forward.

Ben WatsonSpeaking to the Dorset Echo, Lucas said: “It’s great that Ben has signed a new two-year contract.

“He was a great player for us last season and he leads the line superbly.

“He epitomises really what a forward should do, holding the ball up well and working his socks off for the team.

“He’s a good lad to have around the club and it’s a great bit of news that he has signed this new deal.”
