THE JURY IS STILL OUT ON PLAY-OFF RE-THINK

ONE of these months, I promise to use this column to pass comment on the changes for the coming season, with more play-offs in the National League, taking in teams who finish as low as seventh. And in Step 3, where a new league will be created for the 2018/19 season by relegating fewer clubs currently at that level and promoting more from Step 4, doubling the number who go up automatically indeed. The same will happen at Step 5, in turn to fill the vacancies created at 4.
